Ironman loves it

Ironing is a genderless necessity unless you're still sporting the Pacific Northwest Grunge look. Like any chore, the trick to facing the music and feeling motivated to make it happen is having the right tools. Ironing board covers are probably something you never give thought to until you notice one day that the one you've had since college looks more like a scalded sheet of bacon than a clean work surface. If you're reading this, then most likely this realization has caught your attention and trudging to a local housewares store to buy one isn't how you want to spend the afternoon. I would like to help you spend as little time as possible mulling over this mind numbing chore by saying, after checking the dimensions of your ironing board, just buy this one and have Amazon drop it on your doorstep. If you use starch when you iron, you know the overspray and repeated intense heat can form almost a glaze on your ironing board. This prohibits an iron , especially when usi ng a steam setting to distribute heat as intended. This cover seems very substantial and even has a section less susceptible to scorching where you can put your iron as you reposition your garment on the board. As a single male, I try to do my own ironing because I consistently got shirts back from the dry cleaners looking like the collars and seams got no attention and had to be touched up anyway. Dragging out an ironing board with pansies decorating it or a sterile white surface also erodes motivation. This cover has a very modern geometric pattern that doesn't embarrass you if someone pops in your house before you had a chance to put it away. It handles heat very well and has a surface that makes repositioning your ironing item a little easier. After removing the old cover just drape this one on top of your oversized ironing board, use the two provided elastic bands with clamps,on each end to grab the string line on the sides that is sewn into the periphery of the cover especially in the front and back areas underneath the board. This assures the cover won't slip around or bunch up as you iron. It has a scorch resistant coating, it is substantial, it is attractive, depending on your personal preference, of course. I can't speak for Robert Downy Jr., but this ironman highly recommends this cover and it seems like it will last or years.

Very sturdy

A little loose on my board and the board is steel and about 50 years old. Works well with the pad that is suggested.

I returned the size D for a size E.

I love the quality of the Ironing Board Cover. However, I had to return the size D cover for a size E. My Ironing Board is NOT elliptical at the front, rather has a slight taper.
