5I USED TO BURN MY FINGERS!
By Earl R. Young
I purchased these because I do a lot of steam pressing when I sew. Thank goodness for this invention! No more scalding.

5NO MORE Steam Burned Fingertips
By Teri Borchers
You know, for some reason I've always had thin-skinned fingertips. They have always burned easily, and with as much steaming as I do with sewing various things, it was a constant issue.

I never even knew these things existed until I stumbled upon them in a Nancy's Notions catalog. I am thrilled with them. I did buy the little "stiletto" but sometimes you just have to get your fingers in there so these are truly perfect for my poor fingers.

BUY THESE if you fingertips are thin like mine and you're constantly going "ouch" when you steam iron. I don't think you'll be sorry. This is a set of three and they all three fit my thumb, index and middle finger, respectively (with a little bit of tugging on the smallest one).

Hope this helps,
teri b

5Excellent for hand embroidery
By catbird
I do a lot of hand embroidery, I have a habit of poking the side of my middle finger with the eye of the needle when I am working on an intense piece of work or I have a deadline so am stitching for several hours at a time over a few days. It always seems that once I poke that spot on my middle finger I keep re-poking it and stitching becomes quite painful.

I don't like thimbles in general, but I will use one once I poke the finger. :-) I've never found one that doesn't drive me crazy until I tried these thermal thimbles. I've worked on two intense projects since buying these thimbles and as soon as I poke the finger I put one of these thimbles on and I haven't yet had a problem with the finger getting sore and infected. I haven't had the eye of the needle pierce the thimble material, either. I get used to these thimbles fairly quickly especially considering the painful alternative. They don't impede my stitching.

I still don't use a thimble until I have to, but these have made my stitching life so much easier. I highly recommend them.
