Product Description

The Laurastar S4e Ironing System is the first lightweight professional iron that is more comfortable and less tiring to use. Features include a two-speed, reversible board fan that creates a vacuum or a silent cool blower for crease-free ironing. The Laurastar also has a scale filter so that hard water can be used without scale build up on the internal parts or steam nozzles. The steam is extra-fine and kept at a constant pressure of 3.5 bars, producing 200 liters of steam volume per minute, resulting in professional-quality ironing with no damp traces on the garments. The Laurastar includes an iron safety storage box, to prevent burns or accidents after use. For your convenience, the board folds and has six height-adjustment settings. The iron heats quickly and is ready for use in three minutes. The steam reservoir is removable and holds 1.2 liters (40 ounces) of water for uninterrupted ironing. The system has two pairs of integrated wheels for easy moving and folds to a compact 20 cm (7.87 inches) for storage.

5Sewer's iron
By MicheleB
I bought a LauraStar about 5 years ago -- not this model, which wasn't available at the time. My hobby is sewing, and this iron has been great for that. Once a fabric has been pressed, it should not be moved until the fabric has cooled (true of any ironing job.) Otherwise, it will simply re-wrinkle, if that's a word. With the 2-way vacuum board, you have the choice of vacuming the steam down through the fabric, cooling it very fast, or whooshing the air upward for lightweight fabrics -- voile, batiste, chiffon, etc., which, again, cools the fabric very quickly without the drag of pulling it down and flattening it to the board. My model did not come with wheels, and it is a nuisance to put it away, but since I leave it up in my sewing room all the time, it has not been a major issue. It also did not come with the cleaning tools this ironing system has. However, I have been very careful with it, as it was a fairly major investment for a hobby. It recommends flushing the tank for every 8 hours of use, which is about all I do, other than clean the soleplate if I get goo on it. I also have to use an adhesive roller on the cover every time I use it, as it has proved to be a rather costly cat bed, but that really has no effect on the quality. I do have a reverse osmosis system on my water, so I guess it's OK. This iron has been worth every penny to me, and has never caused me a problem.

4A steamers delight
By Frank Bohn
I bought a Laurastar a year ago. I love it! It doesn't spit or leak. It creases pants, smoothes even the hardest set wrinkles and makes garments feel fresh.
